- Easy to remove: After initial assembly, loosen the two turn knobs and lift out the barrier when you need to fold the seats or change your cargo setup. Reinstallation is tool-free.

The Bullet Proof Fabricating (BPF) Tesla Model Y Pet Barrier creates a practical divider behind the rear seats, giving your dog a dedicated cargo-area space while helping discourage climbing over the seatbacks.

Tesla Model Y & Juniper Pet Barrier FAQs
Will this pet barrier fit the new Tesla Model Y (Juniper)?
Yes. Our Tesla Model Y Pet Barrier is compatible with the refreshed Tesla Model Y, commonly known as Juniper, including the new 2026 Model Y, as well as the previous Model Y design. It provides a practical barrier between the rear cargo area and passenger compartment while maintaining usable cargo space. It is designed around the factory headrests. If your seating configuration or headrests differ from the installation video, contact BPF before ordering; fitment for every trim, third row configuration, or modified interior has not been separately confirmed.
How do I assemble and install the Model Y dog barrier?
Initial panel assembly requires tools. Assemble the panels and headrest brackets, then follow the Tesla Model Y installation video to mount the barrier to the rear seat factory headrests. No drilling is required. The video demonstrates mounting in the car; if you need help with panel assembly or the fasteners, contact BPF before proceeding.
What hardware and tools do I need?
Mounting hardware, driver and passenger barrier panels, two turn knobs, driver and passenger headrest brackets, and four headrest grommets are included. Have suitable hex keys available for initial panel assembly. Tools and printed instructions are not listed as included kit contents; contact BPF to confirm the fasteners and tool sizes supplied with your order.
Can the Tesla Model Y cargo barrier be removed and reinstalled?
Yes. Once the initial assembly and mounting setup is complete, loosen the turn knobs and lift out the barrier when you need to fold the seats or change your cargo layout. Removal and reinstallation after setup do not require tools.
Does the Tesla Model Y dog guard leave usable cargo space?
Yes. The barrier sits behind the rear seats to separate the cargo area from the passenger compartment while leaving cargo space for dogs and gear. It can be removed when you need a larger loading area. The barrier has not been crash tested; secure all carried items and keep the existing 15 lb per side accessory mounting limit in mind.

This barrier is perfect for me. I always have multiple dogs with several large ones. I have used barriers with tension rods for decades until my deaf 55 pound Pyr mix Luna. Luna wants to be in the front with me while I am driving and she has plowed her way through every prior barrier I have. She chews through harness leashes that clip to seat belt clips. I have used a net barrier between the 2 front seats and I have to keep my arm over it as she pushes to get through. She's a sweetheart, and very excitable as well as wanting to be right next to me. This barrier attaches to the back headrests and is Luna proof. It is easy to put together. I have 2 Great Pyrenees mixes and this helps me keep the rain of white hair in an easy to clean area. The communication and customer service is excellent. I lost one of the screw sets that hold together the grid which comes in 3 pieces, they sent me an Amazon link to a set that would work. I am a very happy customer!
